I am the 2008 World Barista Champion and work for Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea. I sit on the boards of World Coffee Events and Coffee Common and will be married in May. Before this I worked for Square Mile Coffee in London, and before that I worked in Bewley’s Cafe in Ireland. However my first coffee job was at the immediately previous job in the now closed but at the time quite wonderful Rio Coffee Co on Exchequer St in Dublin. But you could say my initial experience with coffee began in the job before that at Pasta Pizza in my home town of Skerries. ( see below )

I’ve returned to Ireland after 4 yrs and … I’m tullin ya Antoe … Jaysus, Mareee and Joesuff … what a change !!! Bewleys aren’t pushing drip filter, still aren’t broke, and, with a cautious eye and the intro of no smoking laws, the number of cafes that can do 1/2 decent milk or esp are getting close to the number of pubs that serve a decent pint ! … although we all know that the later will never beat the former … You are the epitome of change that Ireland has seen in the last few years. Congrad’s on the WBC and good luck mate, love your style ! oh, …. and now you’re famous, can you let your fans in on the life you intend on living in the wake of your WBC glory, if you’re not in Manilla getting sunburnt or tossed in a tornado or 2 …
